winding ways

We drove through a haven of electric green,

Sun peaking through the vines,

The trees hugging the road along the way,

And speeding through these winding ways,

I wanted to capture the moment,

But leave it free all at once,

Roads like this were meant for sunny days,

Open minds,

And rolled down windows,

We wound through the small paths,

And through the vast green around,

I smiled and breathed in the moment,

The fresh air,

And the smell of the wet flora around,

Endless options ahead,

I felt as though I belonged,

I had purpose,

And I was in the right place,

For once,

I knew I was in the moment,

And the past had lead me to this moment,

This perfect refuge of nature and winding roads
