Patience, my dear

You whispered,

‘Patience my dear’,

But patience is something I could never grasp,

Why hold back,

Mask emotions,

And blur the line of now and then,

Why wait,

And not bring light to the moment,

Why hesitate,

And ramble,

And not say the unsaid,

Why slow the moment,

And drag this out,

Why not throw caution to the wind,

Breathe deeply into your lungs,

And say the words from your heart,

Let them pour out of your wicked mouth,

And mean them with every syllable,

Every audible thought being collected,

And every gaze you held,

You looked me in the eye,

And simply said,

Patience never was a strength of yours,

But for that,

You’re a weakness of mine.
